Does it bother ANYBODY else when someone calls them hun?

I see a lot of girls these days who go around calling people hun. To me it just sounds awkwardly maternal and a little patronizing. In my experience the people who do it are generally emotionally damaged and are compensating with this like mindset that involves calling people hun. I know that isn't always the case, but to me if you aren't over 50, a southern waitress, or named flo, than you have no business calling someone "hun". Sorry for the rant but I just wanted to get that off my chest.
