Is it possible to switch contract signer? Help!?

Okay, so I'm 17 and legally unable to sign for a cell phone contract on my own. I was wondering, if I was to get a 2 year plan, if I could get my mom to sign it for now and then take over it for myself as soon as I turn 18? I hope that makes sense haha... please help!
