I have a clear crock with a rayed bottom?

I don't know what it's used for. It's heavy clear gl with a gl lid...on the bottom there are raised ribs to hold something out of liquid? I have no clue what it's used for...does anyone have a clue? It is 7 1/2" in diameter and 4 7/8" deep without its lid on. The raised rays on bottom are 3/4" tall. Thanks for any info you can offer....
