Is cosmetic surgery a sin against God?

If God gives you the body you are in then is it not a sin to alter it? God's will is often the shelter under which many Christians take refuge and yet when I tune in to evangelical TV I see many who preach to gospel who have 'had work done'. Is vanity not a deadly sin? Is altering God's work not a sin?
