Why do Christians constantly fight science?

I am a Christian. I grew up attending Christian schools, where I was primarily taught the theory of evolution. I do not believe in Creationism. Not all Christians are the foes of scientific research, as should be evidenced by the number of my fellow parishioners who hold postgraduate degrees in the sciences. Not all Christians are Fundamentalists. I support scientific and technological research.
